Posters warning Hindus and Sikhs to leave their homes were found pasted in a village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.
Police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Saturday recovered posters pasted on some houses, warning Hindus and Sikhs to leave their homes or else they would face consequences.
At 6 pm, locals discovered three posters pasted on the walls of houses in Degwar Maldiyalan village in Poonch district. The posters, written in Urdu, read, “All Hindus and Sikhs should leave this area as soon as possible. Otherwise, you will have to pay a heavy price for it.”
Notably, the Degwar sector is situated adjacent to the Line of Control (LoC).
One poster was found pasted on the main gate of an advocate, Mahinder Piyasa, while the second poster was recovered from the lawn of one Kishore Kumar. The third one was found on the lawn of one Sujan Singh.
On receiving information about the posters, SSO Deepak Pathania of Poonch Police Station reached the spot along with the team of security forces. He got the posters confiscated in the presence of Sarpanch Parvinder Singh.
An investigation into the matter is underway.
